Getting message that bill not paid

I had paid the electricity bill online and I got the message that the bill was paid initially. After some time I got another message that the bill was not paid. What could be the reason why I got the bill not paid message despite paying the bill?

Sometimes online payment get delayed so maybe that would be the reason

Could be a glitch in their system, probably auto message they send to those who have not paid, and they sent it to you by mistake.
