After retirement, most people don't earn at the same level that they earned previously. And many people relocate and stay in a location that is cheaper after they retire. Do you think it is a sound financial decision to retire to a cheaper location?

They have to for retirement a person doesn't have much money to spend.
 
I think it can be a smart move if you plan it right. I'm from the UK and ended up retiring in Spain a few years ago. The lower cost of living really helps your pension stretch further, but you do need to understand the tax implications, it's not as simple as just moving your savings abroad. I spoke with Axis Financial Consultants about cross-border pension and tax planning between the UK and Spain, and that helped me a lot with avoiding double taxation
