According to the report, New York retained its title as the wealthiest city on the planet, according to the 2025 World’s Wealthiest Cities Report released Tuesday by Henley & Partners in collaboration with New World Wealth.

The report stated that New York is boasting 384,500 millionaires, 818 centi-millionaires, and 66 billionaires; the Big Apple remained a magnet for global wealth, the report showed. The report ranked cities by the number of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), centi-millionaires, and billionaires residing in those locations.

The report said that hot on New York’s heels is the Bay Area, which includes San Francisco and Silicon Valley, ranked second with 342,400 millionaires. The region is now home to 82 billionaires, surpassing New York in that category. The Bay Area’s millionaire population has grown by 98 percent in the past decade, reflecting its position as a hub for technological wealth creation.

The report added that New York was fueled by a strong recovery in the Nikkei 225 during the past two years, Tokyo ranked third with 292,300 millionaires, while Singapore came in fourth with 242,400. Los Angeles, home to 220,600 millionaires (including 516 centi-millionaires and 45 billionaires), has surpassed London to secure fifth place, relegating the UK capital to sixth with 215,700 millionaires --including 352 centi-millionaires and 33 billionaires.

Additionally, London and Moscow were the only two cities among the top 50 to post a decline in their millionaire populations during the past decade, with declines of 12 percent and 25 percent, respectively. Moscow, now ranked 40th, has seen a 25 percent decrease in its millionaire population.

Because of the war, Moscow has not able to regain its position as one of the world's richest countries. London too has not able to retain its position. There are circumstances that prevent a country from rising to the top. New York City is always a famous city in the world. It's hard to reach or travel to New York.

Although New York retains its crown as the world's wealthiest city and everyone's dream city, due to its dense population and high wealth disparity, there are several slum-like areas, such as Brownsville, the South Bronx, and East Harlem. If you walk around Manhattan's Midtown, you'll encounter many homeless people.

It's their fault why they are poor, hehe. They should have been influenced by the rich. Those wealthy people work harder during their early years and never stop investing and managing businesses, no matter how hard they would be.

As a dream city, it naturally attracts many people, especially migrants from other countries, even many Asians. They aspire to be rich and successful, but big cities are always cruel to those without skills and capital.

The rich do not understand the poor. Those who are homeless in New York are not seen by the billionaires. And they never care, but I think they are giving financial support to them via charitable institutions.
