According to the report, more than 25,000 Russian soldiers and officers have deserted from the Central Military District since late 2024, according to Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense. According to HUR, between November 2024 and July 2025, troops from the Central Military District—one of five operational zones of the Russian Armed Forces have illegally abandoned their units. The report describes widespread desertion across multiple fronts and garrisons. Ukrainian intelligence stated that desertions occur in different forms: some soldiers abandon their positions directly on the battlefield, others disappear from permanent deployment points, while a portion fail to return from medical leave or vacations.

The report also stated that Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the South Defense Forces, said to Ukrinform that Russian units engaged in combat against Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the Orikhiv sector are experiencing widespread desertion. According to the Russian 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, which is operating against us in this sector. Within this formation alone, more than 4,500 soldiers have deserted their units and are currently on the run. This reflects a growing morale crisis among Russian troops in southern Ukraine.

Don't run away, don't get out of Russia. If you guys want to have a home, you will need to fight for it. Don't fight Ukraine for their home, fight Putin for yours. Be something you guys have never been, free. It turns out there are still Russian soldiers who are sane and did not die stupidly because they followed the wishes of the stupid clown dictator Putin. You've got the right decision to flee from the battlefield.

I also don't blame these Russian soldiers who like to remain alive with their families. Fleeing from the battlefield is no an act of cowardice. It's an act of self's protection from the sudden attack of a drone.

It's better to flee from the battlefield rather than to fight the Ukrainian troops who are always prepared and equipped with hi tech weapons. It's crucial for them if remain. They will be killed.
