According to the report, the DEA just delivered one of the largest cartel takedowns ever seen in New England, arresting 171 members of the Sinaloa Cartel, the most powerful drug trafficking organization in the world. Federal agents seized over 500 pounds of fentanyl, m*th, and c***ine, along with more than 22,000 counterfeit pills designed to look like legitimate prescription drugs.
The report also said that these deadly fakes, indistinguishable from real Adderall and oxycodone, contained lethal doses of fentanyl. The bust revealed a disturbing reality: cartel members were using social media apps to target young people, advertising fake pills, accepting payments through mobile apps, and even arranging delivery services. Lawrence, Massachusetts, was identified as the epicenter of cartel distribution in New England, showing how deeply Mexican cartels have infiltrated U.S. communities far beyond the border.
In addition to the report, this isn’t just a drug problem—it’s a public health crisis and a national security threat. The DEA says the Sinaloa Cartel operates in every U.S. state and over 40 countries worldwide, with overdose deaths now the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18–45. This operation may have prevented thousands of deaths, but it also exposes how sophisticated, global, and ruthless these cartels have become.
Thankfully, they were alerted by the authorities before these drug cartels could head to the USA. The Boston mayor is just as responsible for those people losing their lives to fentanyl.
