According to the report, many parts of China have experienced extreme weather this summer. Record heatwaves hit the country's eastern region earlier this month, while floods swept the country's southwest.

The report said that Last week, some 20,000 people were evacuated from their homes in Baoding city in Hebei, where a county was reportedly dumped nearly a year's worth of rain in a single day.

Authorities have pledged to spend 50 million yuan ($7m; £5.2m) to repair roads and buildings damaged by heavy rains in northern China.

They have also dispatched disaster relief supplies to Shaanxi and Hebei, provinces near Beijing that have also been hit by the downpours.

There are many countries in the world, one is Philippines affected with severe flooding. The month of July is mostly rainy and stormy so if the canals are clogged, the flood cannot pass through causing a flood to overflow.
