#35,000 Nigeria wage defaults payment by government

On Wednesday, the Nigeria Labour Congress expressed their anger over some state government failure in paying the wage award of 35,000 Nsria as agreed by the Federal Government and the organised Labour.

Even pensioners who retired from the Federal Civil Service are about go on nationwide protest as government fails to pay the wage award.

Some states are yet to effect the payment while others like Ogun, and Osun are paying N15,000 or less

State governors have reneged on the negotiations, as they offer workers N10,000 without any negotiation.The thing is that
NLC and Trade Union Congress entered into an agreement with the Federal Government where the FG agreed to pay a N35,000 which state governors are reneging

In this present economy, what can 35,000 naira do for a worker. 35, 000 is lesser than 25 USD. It is totally unacceptable to give a worker 25 USD monthly which will not even be enough to cover transportation and feeding. Nigeria is a failed state.

That's right but the funny thing is that some states are not even implementing this and it is really pathetic considering the inflation rate we are even experiencing

It's well though, even the 35,000 is not enough if one should be honest. Yet they have refused to pay. Our government is something else.

That's right, it's really appalling. The minimum wage is Soo small for the common man but some people are still kicking aganist it's payment. it's just too bad.
