According to the report, authorities rescued seven minors from online sexual exploitation during an operation in Barangay Calzada-Tipas, Taguig City, in September. 3. The late-night rescue was carried out by police operatives of Camp Crame, with support from the Taguig Women and Children Protection Desk.
The report also stated that Local social workers were on-site to provide immediate medical checkups, medico-legal processing, and psychosocial assistance to the victims, who would later be transferred to a childcare facility for rehabilitation.
In addition to the report, two women were arrested in the operation. Investigators said the victims’ mother had been recording and selling lewd videos of her children to foreign clients for PHP2,500 per transaction.
Both suspects are facing charges under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, the Anti-Child Pornography Act, and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
