Yesterday, the 4th of April . Tragedy struck at Papalanto community in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State. There was an electric transformer explosion and it killed the son of one Mr Taiwo Nicholas, while the daughter was injured.

The two victims, a boy and a girl were nine and seven years. The boy Jomiloju Taiwo, died before he could be taken to the hospital, and the girl Pipeloluwa Taiwo had secere burns from the incident.

This incident happened when the Electricity Distribution Company restored power supply to the community shortly after a power outage in the day.

So not long after the power restoration, a loud noise was heard, which emanated from the electric transformer. The explosion generated some fire and gutted Nicholas’ building, a few feet away from the transformer leaving the siblings lying unconscious on the kitchen floor.

They were both rushed to the hospital, the older sibling, Jomiloju died on the way while the sister Pipeloluwa sustained severe burns on the body

May they rest in peace. That was so tragic dying too young. it must have been avoided though. They must have stayed home to be safe.
That's the unfortunate part you can still die and be unsafe in your home. They were not even out playing but died in their kitchen at home
quite sad.

This is all due to the facts that our transformers are not properly maintained by does in charge of it. It's well honestly. May God continue to protect us in this country.

Those kids were so unlucky. Better the other siblings and parents were not around. That was so tragic and excruciating.

May the soul of the child rest in peace. Sometimes, parents need to be extra careful and monitor how their children move around. Some parents use to be careless and don't regulate and discipline their children. They allow their children play in unsafe conditions and environment.

I can imagine how terrified they would have been doing that they would soon die from the fire

They should have escaped. Can't they escape? Maybe the explosion was near them. Thankful they didn't turn to bits of pieces.

The pains can be killing losing a child let alone two. The mother most importantly must have been in pains.
It's very painful for the mom seeing her lovely kids dead. It's brutal pain.

The pain will be forever painted in the mom's memory.I'm hoping she's moved on and accepted the fate of her little kids.
