While others were relaxing in comfortable chairs, 99-year-old Olive Elliott chose the seat of a combine harvester. Near Reston, in the southwest of the state, this woman returned to the farm to share in the harvest with her grandson, helped by her family.
Olive was born into a farming family and her whole life has been close to the land. Her decision to ride the combine again is proof that she still feels at home in the countryside.
Her story is a heartwarming reminder that age is no barrier to continuing to live the life you love.
