According to recent news, a group of 32 people in distress were rescued after spending nearly 20 hours clinging to debris following their boat sinking near Taganak Island in Tawi-Tawi, Philippines. The rescue operation was carried out by the Malaysian and Philippine Navies. Rear Admiral Francisco Tagamolila Jr., the commander of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao, confirmed that these individuals were passengers on a boat named M/L Bangsata, which had set off from Taganak Island heading to South Ubian town early in the morning. The situation came to light when a Singaporean oil tanker named EONIA spotted the struggling boat and notified the authorities, leading to the successful rescue.
