According to the report, a Chinese PhD student Zhenhao Zou, 28 was found guilty by the London Court, Wednesday this week for raping 10 women in England and China. The London authorities also said that there will be more or less 50 women he raped between 2019-2023. After a long month trial Zou was convicted of 11 counts of rape, with two of the offenses relating to one victim.
The jurors concluded Zou raped three of the women in London and seven in China. Other victims are yet to be identified including those 50 women. Zou was considered the worst sex offenders in U.K. history. During his crime, he used a hidden camera to record his attacks and that served as one evidence. Zou never showed an emotional remorse of his crime and the verdict.
Zou, a mechanical engineering student who was doing his PhD at University College London, defended himself claiming that those acts were all done were consensual. Jurors, who had to watch footage of the attacks during the trial, were given regular breaks. Judge Rosina Cottage described the defendant as a “dangerous and predatory sexual offender” and that his sentence will be “very long.”
Zou, who showed no emotion as the verdicts were read out in court, was also convicted of three counts of voyeurism, 10 of possession of an extreme pornographic image, one of false imprisonment and three of possession of a controlled drug with intent to commit a sexual offense, namely butanediol.
The offender lured the victims to have a drink with him in his apartment. He drugged and raped them. He was arrested when the two brave women reported the crime and gave evidence at the trial.
