A French climber passed away on the world's fifth highest mountain, Mount Makalu, in Nepal. This is the second fatality in the spring climbing season of 2024. Johnny Saliba, a French climber, died last Sunday at 8,120 meters of elevation. He was on his way to the top when his guide decided to bring him down after Johnny Saliba experienced altitude sickness symptoms, and then he died.
