A German aerospace engineer named Rudiger Koch has made history by surviving underwater for an incredible 120 days in a submerged capsule off the coast of Panama. At the remarkable age of 59, Rudiger Koch resided in a 30-square-meter capsule accompanied by Susana Reyes, a certified Guinness World Records adjudicator.

Rudiger Koch’s achievement beats the record, by Joseph Dituri, an American, who spent 100 days submerged at a Florida lodge's underwater lagoon. He described his experience as a remarkable adventure, yet he also felt a sense of regret that it was over. “It was a great adventure, and now that it’s concluded, there’s almost a feeling of longing,” he shared with AFP.
