According to the report, Israel carried out 20 strikes on Yemen's Hodeidah port, a day after Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched an attack at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport. But Israel is just the latest Western ally to target the Houthi-controlled port that has been under constant attack by the US and UK. Though Israel claims it is in retaliation for the rocket strike on its territory, experts argue that the airstrikes are part of larger plans to overthrow the Houthis and to strengthen Yemen's internationally recognised government.

The report added that Houthis, along with Hezbollah and Iran, have been fighting Israel and its allies since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a full-scale war in Gaza after Hamas' October 7, 2023, attacks. In just the last year, the US has responded by bombing over 1000 targets in Yemen, including the Ras Isa fuel port, Saad Sana, and the Hodeidah port itself, all in Houthi-controlled territory. So, what are the different power structures in Yemen? What areas do they control? What is the endgame of the intensified Western offensive? Houthis or Ansar Allah is an Iran-backed rebel group that took control of the northern part of Yemen after large-scale protests against ex-President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi in 2015. It was a coup, popularly known as the September 21 Revolution. This gave Houthis control over the strategic Aden-Hudaydah coastal area of the Red Sea.

It is good to hear that the Yemeni government would like to collaborate with the USA and Israel to topple the Houthis rebels who are lurking around in Yemen, especially in Red Sea.

At least the Yemeni government realized the impact of letting the Houthi rebels to hide in Yemen. Their main airport was bombed by the IDF troops as a retaliation of the attack of the Houthi rebels in one airport in Israel. At least Israel, the USA and the Yemeni government made an agreement to merge their forces to fight against the Houthi rebels.
