Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Abdulmalik Sanni for allegedly def!ling a 16-year-old in Igbesa, located in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state. Nigeria
CSP Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, March 4, said that Sanni committed the offence on February 28, 2025.
According to Odutola, the victim, accompanied by her father, filed a report with the police on Sunday. at approximately 6:40 pm.
"According to the victim, on February 28, 2025, Abdulmalik Sanni bought her Indomie noodles, and after consuming them, she fell asleep in his room. While she was asleep, Sanni allegedly had sexual intercourse with her without her consent and when she woke up, she found herself naked.”
Odutola disclosed that upon arrest, the suspect confessed, admitting to the crime and claiming that the 16-year-old victim was his girlfriend.
“Upon receipt of the report, a team of investigators was promptly assigned to the case. Statements were obtained from both the complainant and the suspect. Notably, the suspect provided a confessional statement, alleging that the victim is his girlfriend."
