A Nigerian woman, Opeyemi, who fled Ukraine in 2022 after Russia's invasion, has qualified as a medical doctor.

Opeyemi was among tens of thousands of refugees including women and children, who crossed into Romania and other countries bordering Ukraine as Russia's war intensified and casualties mounted.

She shared a photo of herself at the border with other refugees, writing: "Me in 2022, Me in 2024

Opeyemi has qualified as a medical doctor, which is great. Her time in Ukraine has been beneficial, as she can treat injured Ukrainian soldiers and others seeking medical help.
