Officials reported that a wildfire on Thursday destroyed over 80 buildings, killed one person, and forced the evacuation of hundreds of Japanese residents. The military has deployed helicopters to fight the forest fires raging in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture. NHK, a public broadcaster, showed aerial footage of a bright orange fire that burned several houses to their frames. "A burned body was found and transported to a nearby police station," a local police official reported to AFP. Ofunato city officials report that nearly 600 residents have been evacuated. City officials estimate that Thursday morning's fire damaged at least 84 buildings. Ofunato's mayor, Kiyoshi Fuchigami, said the cause of the fire was still unknown.

There is no second chance when a fire breaks out. I hope those buildings were insured to have less worries for the building owners. That was not good for having one being killed due to fire. He might have been trapped in the building.

Getting out of a raging fire is extremely challenging. I feel sad for the single person who was killed. S/he may have suffocated or become trapped.

It's well, people are really going through one issue or the other out there. May God continue to help us all.

We're not completely safe from accidents or other bad things, unfortunately. We are all vulnerable to unforeseen setbacks. Mishaps can occur regardless of how cautious we are. That's a difficult truth about life.

Oh no one gone just like that. I hope they have all been evacuated to safety that's how it should be

Yes, things can change in an instant. Accidents can happen, no matter how careful we are. Sadly, that's the truth. Some people died unexpectedly. Things were fine in the morning, but something bad might happen later in the day.

This year seems to be a year of fires. It has left China and it is now raging in Japan. Which country next?

It is a scary thing for fire to break out, and if there is a fatality. It is so crucial for the families to see a member gotten by fire. It is better to secure the self when fire occurs.
i agree with you mate. it chats be funny seeing a family member being burn to death. The experience can be traumatizing

Yes, so true, especially if the body is charred. It is very excruciating pain for the family, friends, and relatives seeing the charred body of their beloved.

That's right, this is why it is good to always reach out to our loved ones and be sure they are okay wherever they are.
