According to the report, a woman who vanished more than six decades ago in Wisconsin has been found, and as it turns out, she didn’t want to be found, authorities say.
Audrey Jean Backeberg, 82, went missing on July 7, 1962, from Reedsburg, a small town about 60 miles northwest of Madison, Wisconsin. At the time, she was 20 and another person claimed she and Backeberg hitchhiked to the state capital, where they took a Greyhound bus to Indianapolis, Indiana.

The report said that Backeberg walked around the corner away from the bus stop, the person told authorities, and hadn’t been seen or heard from since. Investigators from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said they “pursued numerous leads” trying to find Backeberg for years, but despite their efforts, the case went cold.

It was learned that she intended to leave her place and never had the intention to be found by her family. She sounded happy, confident in her decision, no regrets.

What did her parents do to her, or what did she go through there to make her take such decision though? Imagine the pain her loved ones must have been through all these years.

Perhaps there was a family feud. That woman was happily living in another state but she was also to blame of her fate. She didn't disclose the reason why she left home and never came back. Just imagine the years she left without a trace. Her parents might have died already.

Why put her family through all this. For a whole 60 days some people are just sick
60 years, mate, not 60 days. It was also the decision of the woman not to be found. They might have a family feud. She left her place at 20 and now she is 80 years old.

Some people do behave strangely at sone points in their lives. And you begin to wonder what has gone wrong with them
That woman might have grudges with her family. How could she leave and never inform her family about her whereabouts if she had no grudges?

It baffling when you see what others are going through. it's can't be easy for a lot of family members

We do not know exactly about her reasons, she did not even tell the authorities her reason for leaving without a trace for 60 years.

Impossible to judge, as Audrey Jean Backeberg never revealed the reasons she vanished from Wisconsin. It could have been she wanted to escape from a toxic/possessive family she couldn't stand any more. But it's only an hypothesis.
There could be possible reasons why she left her place without a trace for 60 years, unknown to her family. She might have a conflict with a family member.

The parents of this woman might be dead already, Just imagine 60 years duration. Her elder siblings might be too old too. This woman is now 80 years old, Most likely her elder siblings already passed away.

But where. was she hiding or being hidden all these years. Things are really happening so incredible
That woman left her small hometown in Wisconsin to Indians. It's quite far from her hometown. She never disposed her reason why left her family without a trace for many years. She left home at 20 and was found after 60 years. She's now 80. She's a strong woman but she lacks connection and empathy with her family.

This is indeed good news for the family. I can't just imagine how excited they would feel with this now that they have found their lost loved one.

This old woman might have reasons why she left her family without a trace for 60 years. I cannot imagine he pain and worries of her parents when she did not return. Sixty years is too long,, and she was thought to be dead.
