It's been long ago in my country businesses advertised in the Classified ads section of a newspaper. Many buy newspaper just to seek for a vacant position that fits their qualifications. Many callers inquire the pricing of a product after being seen in a newspaper ads.

No, i don't think advertising on newspapers is still worthy. This is because people barely read newspapers these days.
