According to the report African Union Commission President Mahmoud Ali Youssouf expressed deep concern on Sunday over an ongoing jihadist blockade in Mali, calling for urgent international action. For weeks, jihadists with the Al-Qaeda-linked Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) have imposed a fuel blockade on Mali, creating a crisis for its ruling military junta.

The report also stated that Youssouf expresses his deep concern over the rapid deterioration of the security situation in Mali, where terrorist groups have imposed a blockade, disrupted access to essential goods, and dramatically worsened the humanitarian crisis for civilian populations, the African Union ,

Additionally, the president of the commission urges a strong, coordinated, and coherent international response to combat terrorism and violent extremism in the Sahel for the fear of further escalation of this blockade by the Jihadist.

The situation in Mali has become very difficult due to the oil blockade and this has badly affected the lives of ordinary people. The AU has expressed great concern and said that the world must act quickly. Without international support, things could get worse.

Terrorists have blocked essential goods and now the people are lacking basic necessities. This is a very painful situation and requires a strong response. If there is no action, the humanitarian crisis will worsen and many people will suffer.

Youssouf stressed that there must be international solidarity to fight terrorism. This is an opportunity to show solidarity and support the people of the Sahel. Without justice and peace, society collapses. We must stand together and fight for a better life.

For weeks, jihadists with the Al-Qaeda-linked Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) have imposed a fuel blockade on Mali, creating a crisis for its ruling military junta. This is an alarming and worrisome situation in Africa. Hoping other countries will help them end the jihadists.
