At least 450 people have perished on this year's trip, in which passengers experienced maximum temperatures ranging from 108 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (42 to 49 degrees Celsius).

After hundreds of pilgrims died in the blistering desert heat during the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Egypt's government stated on Saturday that it had suspended the licenses of 16 tour companies that had aided some pilgrims' trip to Saudi Arabia.

I don't understand how people take religion. Religion is not do or die affair. When the heat is unbearable why not go back and have some good rest? Some people will walk to their death with their eyes wide open. It is unfortunate that people will die where they went to worship God!
