According to the report, Russia’s alleged bid to arm the Yemen-based Houthi rebels seems to have sparked tensions between Putin and Mohammed bin Salman.
This comes amid reports of Victor Buff’s involvement in a bid to supply arms to the Houthi militia. The Houthis reportedly sought to purchase $10 million worth of Russian arms, including AK-47s.
The report said that experts say Vladimir Putin’s alleged bid to arm the Houthis may well backfire on the Kremlin. Russia runs the risk of blowing apart Moscow’s alliance with the Gulf Cooperation Council.
