Alcohol and elections in India

Come elections and most political parties distribute alcohol to the poorer section of the people to coax them to vote for them.
In Bihar the scenario is different. The present Chief Minister had banned alcohol in the state but another new upcoming party has promised to abolish this ban. I don't think it will win as people are now more bent upon getting a sustainable income and live a better and safe life.
