I post the link here for you to read the entire story. And this is a really scary situation. How AI can be misused by scammers and criminals. It's very natural for a common person to fall in trap of such calls, especially when it involves your child or loved ones in such situation. Sanity would not always prevail in such conditions. We live in times where our privacy and personal lives are compromised. Anyone on the Internet can get access to it and we can fall trap for such scams.
Beware and take all cautions to not share too much of personal informations on digital platforms. You might be uploading a family video on the social media platforms for fun and sharing. But there are criminals and scammers out there who would misuse the AI technology for deep fake audios and videos.

Without a doubt, AI has advantages and disadvantages. People can utilize it to deceive or scam others. This is why, if you have children, you should guide them or limit their mobile phone usage. Senior citizens are also at risk, as most are susceptible to different types of scams online. Exercise care at all times, as we live in a digital age when scammers and criminals are more widespread.

I agree with all of you. Every technology comes with advantages and disadvantages. And it would depend on how one would use them. We are seeing increasing cases of scams and frauds happening in the digital. One has to be aware and informed. One has to exercise all possible ways to stay safe and secure online.

I read the attachment and it's indeed scary AI was abused and misused by the criminals. Thankful the culprit didn't prosper. We need to be vigilant this time.

It is indeed very scary. Good that many people didn't fall for this scam. My own sister in law received one call from the same group. And we know of one person in our circle, who fell victim for this and transferred a huge amount to them to save his son.
People have made this post viral on social media to warn others and alert every one.
We are going to see more and more of such things in coming future. Even criminals would try to make every possible use of AI.
 
The thing is that with everything meaningful that is invented, these scammers would always find a way to perverse it and give it the wrong application. We should all just be careful though.

Totally agree. Every technology and advancements comes with it's own set of disadvantages. It can be used, misused and abused. We have seen an increase in cyber crimes with the world going more and more digital. But then it makes life easier and convenient and we have to adapt to it. We need to be aware and take all precautions to avoid being scammed.
