I have always wanted to invest in solid assets. I have an attachment to solid investments because I have some belief that they always come out with better yield

Gold and real estate are examples of solid investments. Which other solid assets can one invest apart from those two?

Well, people do go for luxury collectibles and antiques. They have a niche market but can be liquidated in time of needs. I don't have a personal experience with that.
While, silver is considered as an investment option giving reasonably good profit, diamonds are still not seen as investment thing in our country. It's an item of luxury and personal possession than an investment thing. The resale value of diamond does not yield much of profit.

For someone in middle class economic group or even the lower rich ones( higher middle class), solid assets are limited to real estate and gold. Many would also consider silver as this metal also gives a good financial return if you liquidate it. Other solid assets might be the high value properties that you might have inherited. It can also be a high yielding agricultural land that produces some cash crop.

Yes, if you have a very profitable business that you have launched or you have inherited, you can definitely consider it as a solid asset. It becomes even more valuable if it is well established and has a potential to sustain long.
