Anyone still using Windows Paint tool or Linux Kolourpaint?

Yes, I know Paint and Kolourpaint (from Ubuntu suite) can't be compared by any means to Canva, Photoshop or Corel Draw and they can't meet the needs of a professional graphic. But personally I find them helpful to edit images (copyright free) whose editing I need to participate in contests from my main PTWs. I also find them helpful to create images when I need them for my e-books chapters (to publish in the same or similar PTWs). Not that big deal for many people, but I can't get rid of Paint and Kolourpaint at all.

Interestingly, I used paint a lot just to crop images, now for simple editing I never used the tool.

Yes, I do tons of editing with Paint and the tool works very well for me. Usually, I need free images from Pixabay to add to my e-books chapters, but sometimes I don't find the exact image that better fits the scenario. So I need to edit one that most closely matches to the result I want.

I use Paint for super quick edits, nothing else, and to save some screenshots quickly on the computer, it's useful sometimes.

Yes, sometimes it's the only way to save pictures from a print screen. Paint worked for me, in any way, for averagely elaborate editing. I think I'll never get rid of the tool.

I use Paint on Windows 10 from some crop or simple editing or merge two images. On Windows 11 it become to complicated. Layers, transparent background.

I use the same tool in both Windows10 (running in one of my Toshiba Sat) and Windows11 (running in one of my little VAIOs). I can choose between the new and the old Paint tool (maybe that's because in my VAIO there was Windows10 previously and Windows11 upgrade was offered to me for free).

I am still using Paint until today. There is no reason to discontinue using it. I find it simple for flash editing.

I only use Google Paint when I need to crop a photo or something, because I don't want to buy photoshop for such simple operations

Yes, you are right. These professional tools are shamefully expensive and it's worth to purchase them only when they are compulsory to perform a well paid freelancing job like professional graphic. In such a case, a graphic is able to cover all these expenses.

For sure l have never used the mentioned tools above. I can say that l am not into the webmastering for sure.

These tools are what we used to start graphics design in the day. I no longer use them but they laid a very good foundation.

Lately, I have not been using painting tools because the literary contests I'm participating to need the use of AIs or perfectly ready pictures. But surely, I'll need Paint and Kolourpaint again in the future.

For graphic professional obviously not. To draw images for a PTW contest or to add images to our posts on a PTP social like Hive it's still good. I just need now a drawing for my Hive account and I was using Paint since yesterday again.
