South Korean prosecutors have expressed regret to a lady who was found guilty of protecting herself during a sexual assault over 60 years ago.

Choi Mal-ja, who was 18 at the time, was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspension for chewing off a portion of her attacker's tongue during an alleged rape attempt in 1964.

The 78-year-old Ms. Choi has been fighting for years to have her conviction reversed, motivated by the nation's #MeToo movement.
