Are banks in your country nationalized?

In some countries, banks are nationalized and controlled by the government, while there are other banks which are privately owned. Are there government controlled or nationalized banks in your country?

Yes there are some banks owned and run by the government, then there are some banks owned by private individuals.

In my city, banks are privately owned. There is no national bank here. But there is HKMA (Hong Kong Monetary Authority) responsible to ensure the stability and effective functioning of the banking system.

In my country there are various types of banks, both government owned, regional banks and private banks, but all banks are controlled by the central bank. Even though private bank customers are registered, their funds will be guaranteed by the government if the bank goes bankrupt.

It is only specialized banks like the Bank of Agriculture that is run by the government. Commercial banks are all privately owned.
