It is not accurate to assume that teens with criminal records have mental health issues. While some may, many other factors can contribute to criminal behavior in teens. These can include things like poverty, lack of opportunity, peer pressure, family dysfunction, and exposure to trauma. Mental health issues can certainly play a role in some cases, but it is important to avoid generalization and stereotypes. Each case is unique, and a thorough assessment is needed to understand the underlying cause of any criminal behavior.

Not in all cases, there are some that have a criminal record, then most of them was probably due to circumstances that made them go into a life of crime.

A sudden rage of anger leading to a commission of crime is inevitable if the young individual will not be interrupted to change the stimulus of his present killing mood. One cause is jealousy, hate crime or too much pressure from the family.

From my own experience, I’ve seen that it really depends on the person. My cousin got involved with a gang when he was 17 and started doing all sorts of mischief and stealing. My aunty was really worried about his future, so she found a therapist through the Emora Health portal and kept supporting him consistently. Over time, he completely changed, he’s like a new person now.

I think for teens with criminal records, mental health plays a big role. Some act out because of underlying issues, and with the right support and guidance, they can absolutely turn things around. It’s not the same for everyone, but helping them mentally can make all the difference.
