Some people are materialistic. Despite facing financial constraints they still wish to exhaust themselves to material things. They never have financial literacy orientation to avoid diving into debts. Those materialistic people will suffer financial struggles once hit rock bottom. Their investment might be affected if need to pay their debts or else land in jail.

I was also an extravagant person. I like material things. I only realized my mistake after joining seminars on financial literacy and on forum sites that discuss many topics about living in frugality to achieve gradual wealth.

That's right mate. Even if we have stable job and business we need to control our spending. Money is easy to waste but hard to produce. We labor a lot just to have something on our plates and some savings for the rainy days.

Wow, you are a responsible type . Some people are materialistic despite earnings small but they are obsessed with material things and purchase them through installments that may kill their wallets and sooner or later to live broke.

There are some people that are materialistic upon the fact they have enough. Most materialistic people are financial ok. Been materialistic is difference from lack of financial literacy. Materialistic behavior is more psychological than intellectual

We cannot stop those kind of people. It happened to my brother. He works abroad and his wife is materialistic that she even sells her soul and reputation to the different men. When my brother learns about her betrayal and wasteful living he stops sending her money. We bring home their 3 kids. Being materialistic brings havoc to marriage. There is no saving to happen.
