One of the biggest challenges faced by most freelancers, especially those who are new to the field, is finding the right niche. It can be tough to figure out which area you're most suited to. One possible solution is to assess yourself. What are your passions and interests? What do you feel excited to learn more about? Additionally, it's essential to get to know your target audience. Determine if your niche can solve their problems. If you don't succeed, don't get discouraged. Use it as motivation to push yourself harder.

I started as a freelancer in 2009 and earned quite well but now I don't get any well paid work.

No I have figure it out now but my problem now is funding of my niche business. it is capital intensive for me.
If you are very sure it's the right path and will work for you then you can always ask friends or families to lend you some amount of money to start it up which will also be of added advantage to you as it will be of no interest.
