Freelance marketplaces operate in two primary ways, one, you sell your services directly (like Fiverr), and two, you apply to jobs (like Upwork). While applying to jobs may seem like a faster route to landing a freelancing jobs, the reality is different. In order to secure a job a lot of people under bid. For example, if a client posts a $100 project, freelancers often bid for $50-$6o. If you underbid, and get a job, you end up working for low payment.

Bidding on the freelance platforms can be a waste of time, if you do not get any order. Also, they want a lot of personal information, so users are denied privacy.
