According to the report, Iran’s exiled People's Mojahedin Organization armed group, known as PMOI, have reportedly attacked the residence of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran. According to the information shared by People's Mojahedin Organization, the attack was launched on February 23 and lasted for several hours. As a result of the attack, dozens of members of the People's Mujahideen Organization were reportedly killed or detained.

The report stated that some armed fighters who had taken positions in the second security perimeter of Khamenei’s headquarters in Pasteur returned to their bases, the group said. Sources affiliated with the Mojahedin claim that the security forces inside the complex, known as Motahhari, suffered heavy casualties, but no precise figures have been released. Reports indicate that ambulance traffic, escorted by special units, continued into this complex until noon on Monday. The Motahhari complex in the Pasteur area, with an area of less than half a square kilometer, is the site of deployment and activity for key institutions, including the workplace and residence of Mojtaba Khamenei, the Guardian Council, the Assembly of Experts, the office of the head of the judiciary, the office of the Minister of Intelligence, and the Supreme National Security Council and Expediency Discernment Council.

The re[rt said that there have been no reports in the media about the reported attack on Khamenei’s residence. The alleged attack comes amid the anti-government movement in Iran. Iran was the venue of large-scale protests in January, with demonstrators demanding the ousting of the country’s 87-year-old Supreme Leader Khamenei. Tens of thousands of people were killed in the security forces’ violent clampdown on the protesters, especially on January 8-9. Despite the police crackdown, anti-government protests continue among students as anti-regime rallies held in universities continued for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday.

Additionally, during the rallies, protesters burn the flag of the Islamic Republic, chant anti-government slogans, and call for the ousting of the country’s clergy regime. Students held further protest demonstrations on Tuesday across multiple Iranian universities, including those in Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, and Yazd. Videos released on social media captured protests in several schools, where students were seen ripping pictures of state leaders out of their textbooks.
