As a business owner for an informal business, do I need to dress corporate to work?

One of my friends is of the opinion that dressing corporate to work as a business owner makes the customers that come and the people around take you serious. But seriously, I am a Jeans and T shirt lady and I don't own a formal business. Just a fashion house.

Do I need to dress corporate to my business place?

I am against dress code in any kind of workplace. The only dress code there should be dress sensibly and do not wear provocatively

There is no reason for one to just be dressing corporate in an informal workplace. It is waste of formal clothes.

For a business that does not really require you to dress cooperate, i don't think there is anything wrong in dressing normal. Dressing cooperate in this case might even make some customers feel awkward.

I have realised that the dressing code matters a lot on the operation of businesses. Most people are judged according to the type of jobs that they do for that matter.

Even though you run an informal business, formal attire will show that you are professional and serious when running a business, although there is no prohibition on you only wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

I don't have to dress formal to my farm. That's completely out of question. I might need to dress formal if I am playing with my band for a high class event.

I am a fan of formal wears. And I would gladly wear my formal clothes to work even if I own an informal business.
