Marketing is an essential skill for every business person and those employees working in marketing and sales to have.

For someone that is an employee and doesn't have anything to do with sales and marketing, is it necessary for such a person to have marketing skills? Why?

I believe there is no skill wasted. Even if you don't have anything to do with marketing at the moment, I think it would be best you still have a marketing skills. Who knows, you might need it in the future.

Marketing is often taught when you are studying in the faculty of economics, so even if you work outside the marketing field you already have basic knowledge of marketing, but if you are from a technology or mechanical engineering major, marketing is often ignored. Unless you are already in a managerial position that makes decisions, you need to study marketing.
