As your parents raised you, how would you raise your kids?

I used to think that if I ever had kids of my own, I would never raise them the same way I had been raised since I didn't enjoy it. But as I got older and realized I didn't know how to raise my child the right way, I came to the conclusion that perhaps my parents were correct.
