According to the report, Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned NATO’s military expansion near its borders as highly provocative. This criticism follows the construction of a new military base in Lithuania, set to house German Bundeswehr soldiers.
Russia views NATO's increased activity and the deployment of a Bundeswehr brigade as escalatory. Germany calls the deployment a "historic decision," with the base expected to accommodate around 4,000 soldiers by 2027.
