Blog Commenting for Link Building

When you comment on blogs, you have an option to submit link. While a lot of blog owners delete block comments containing links, they will approve your blog comment with link submitted through link submission box as long as your link is not a link or phishing or porn site. Have you tried blog commenting as a link building method?

Yes I tried link building in Past and got good results and my site appeared in Google results, unfortunately I don't know how to monetize my site at that time.
