Boxing champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis has been arrested on domestic violence charges, TMZ Sports has confirmed. The 30-year-old fighter was taken into custody early Friday morning, with authorities releasing a booking photo showing him in a white polo shirt and a vacant expression.
According to reporter Andy Slater, Davis had been wanted by police following an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend that occurred several weeks ago. The incident reportedly took place on June 15, Father’s Day, just after 9 PM, as Davis was picking up his children from their mother.
Police say the situation escalated from a verbal argument to a physical confrontation. The alleged victim told officers that Davis struck her in the back of the head and slapped her face, leaving a visible laceration. Her mother reportedly witnessed the aftermath, telling police her daughter was “visibly distressed and crying.”
Authorities were alerted to Davis' whereabouts after a license plate reader flagged his vehicle in Miami Beach, leading to a traffic stop and arrest.
