One of my friends that is a successful business person just called to talk to me yesterday. He complained that he spent money to hire the best hands available for his business. But they don't care about the business. They don't want to put in extra effort to help the business and are generally unconcerned.

How do you handle such business problem?

That's the disadvantage of having too many pros in an organisation. Pride and ego would always set in. Just bring up someone that you can train and is teachable. Use them to replace all the pros one by one.
You are right they might be having over bloating sense of self and bring in pride. This will destroy your business instead of building it

It's better to replace them, and hire only hardworking and committed. There are people like that, lack concern, frigid and insensitive.
Even when you are paying them, they don't care about the business. They only care about themselves. Such people should be given a sack no matter how good and professional they are.

I need a sack of money, lol. Their attention must be called and let them explain their behaviours. And ask them if them if they still like to work or not.

People should at least care about where they are getting their pay check. It is an ethical thing. If they don't, they should be let go. I am not saying they should carry the business on their head as employees but they should show a little bit of care.

Things like this is pretty common. These days it has become really hard to find hands that will actually put the business first above everything else. To them even when they do not work hard, they would still be payed by month end.
