Buying real estate property in a rural location: Is it a complete loss?

My dad bought a house in a rural location. As it stands now, the monthly rent in that house is less than a dollar. And the tenants are struggling to pay that. I am talking of a houe that is fairly equipped with utilities. Is buying a real estate property in a rural area a loss?

Strategic land purchases in rural areas can increase in value over time, especially if the area experiences development or improved infrastructure.

Even the rural area might just drastically develop. It is just a matter of time. It is not a less for me.

When you buy real estate in such remote locations, you just have to be patient. It might not appreciate in your time but in your children's time.

If you buy a house in rural areas, you have to check if there the government has any plan to develop that area. Only in the latter case the value of the house will appreciate.
