Can a model thrive working as an independent model?

When it comes to the creative industry, it is always believed that you have to be under an ageing. Can someone thrive as an independent model and become a top model?

Not really because, for the success you need collaboration

The challenge with all these talent agencies is that they rip off these talents that they manage. But as a starting out model, you can't do without them. You just play along, have a contract with them, and see it out but learn the nitty gritty of the business during this period. After that, you can stand on your own.

I might be wrong though but I don't think it's possible. It would be extremely hard to secure gigs and even have opportunities to attend events and all.

You can only succeed if you have the right connection. Just try out and see how it goes but if not you might just need to join an agency
