I see some businesses use the word, "limited" in their names. What does this imply in describing the nature of the business? Can a private company also use the word, "limited" in its name? Any special requirements?

limited company (LC) is a general form of incorporation that limits the amount of liability undertaken by the company's shareholders. It refers to a legal structure that ensures that the liability of company members or subscribers is limited to their stake in the company by way of investments or commitments. In a legal sense, a limited company is a person.

Any type of business can set up as a private limited company – for example, a plumber, hairdresser, photographer, lawyer, dentist, accountant or driving instructor.

A private company that is duly registered and is structured to make it's liabilities limited can use the word, limited, in its name.

In my city, to set up a private limited company needs to follow some business registration requirements, including incorporation, appointment of directors, and applying for business license.
It's important for any private company to follow the necessary registration requirements in order to operate legally and ethically.
