Most of the members here belong to one religion or the other. And religious activities may happen during the thick hours of business. Would you close your business activities for the sake of the religious activities of your religion? Or would you still open and let go religious activities?

I will not close my business for church or any religious gathering. Religion is quite different from been righteous. A lot of churchgoers are the evildoers that is destabilizing our culture and norms.
This idea of placing priority on religion over work or business is the reason some people are hopelessly poor. It is so bad.

I grew up in a Christian home, so I don't see this as strange or new, so yes i can close my business for it.
Yes, of course. We have 6 days per week to work and the 7th to rest, as the Fourth Commandment says. God Himself rest during the 7th day after Creation. It's justifiable to work in the 7th day if you are a doctor, a nurse, a policeman/policewoman because health and security services must work all the time. Obviously, who works in these sectors needs also to rest, so they should receive their rest day, whatever day of the week.

Of course, entrepreneurs must obey and respect religious rules even though the religion is not the same as our beliefs. On the island of Bali, which is predominantly Hindu, all human activities will be stopped on Nyepi/Seclusion Day, so everyone of any religion must respect it. Likewise, in other cities, all restaurants will close during the day to respect Muslims fasting during Ramadan.

Exactly, that's why they place people who work in these sectors on shifts so they can rest while others take over as well.

You are absolutely right! Going to church doesn't translate to righteousness.

Committed to a religion does not mean that you have to close your business or do not work. I think there is no conflict. You can still work and practice your religion.
Obviously: you work 6 days and the seventh you and your staff rest (some businesses work 5 days, from Monday to Friday: the staff who has little children thank you).

There is a difference between set religious worship days and those that are fixed by the religious leaders. I can't open my business on Sundays as a Christian but I won't close my business for a religious program on Monday or Tuesday when I am supposed to make sales.

Yes, this is the correct way to act. We can't close oft-times, but we need to choose a dedication day (there are professionals that close both Saturdays and Sundays, as my accountants do).
