Can you make savings mainly for the Christmas expenses?

In my country most people form groups and raise funds every week, or month from January till December. At the end of the year, they normally distribute the money that everyone contributed for the whole year for Christmas and new year celebrations. What is your take on that?

I actually started making budgetary provisions for Christmas since from September. It is always time to be merry and it is worth spending for.

Lots of cash is being spent on this month of the year. It's seems that most people do make savings mainly for the Christmas and New year's celebrations for sure

If I am planning an elaborate Christmas celebrations, I would have to make budget and save for that.

I actually think having savings for the Christmas expenses is a great idea, this way you won't end up spending everything before January.
