The recent decision to put limits on the amount of electric vehicles (EVs) that can be brought in from China has really got people talking here in Canada.

For me, what's really important is how this affects our own car industry. It's really interesting to think about how these kinds of limits try to keep things fair between different companies.

What I didn't expect was how low the starting number of vehicles allowed would be. It seems like it's going to be a pretty tight limit right from the start.

I think it's super important that we keep a close watch on what happens here at home because of this.We need to see if it helps our own businesses grow and create jobs, or if it ends up causing problems for people who want to buy EVs. We also have to consider whether there are any unintended consequences in the related industry.

Overall, I reckon this decision is going to have a big influence on how the car industry develops in Canada. It could change the kinds of cars that are available, where they're made, and how much they cost. It will be interesting to observe how things play out.
