This is a good one as Dr Eric Odo, Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, has vowed to arrest parents whose children or wards are seen hawking goods during school hours.

Speaking on Monday, Nov. 25, during the inauguration of the Public School Supervision Committee (PSSC) of the council area, Ogbede,. he vowed to do his best to reposition public schools in the council area as a strategy to end out-of-school syndrome

Odo said that there was no reason for any child not to be in school.

"Children must go back to school and school must return to what it was. We will treat any sick child and provide one meal per day for pupils, if need be," he said.

I believe there was a law like this some years back, but after awhile the whole issues died down and everything returned back to what it is right now.
That's always the issue, lack of continuing. The law will be executed for a short while and it goes away after a while

Yes it has become a common practice in Nigeria these days. They don't always follow up with the things they have setup.

That's just the issue we have in Nigeria. There's never a follow up on the laws enacted which is bad
