Changing your forum script

Sometimes you start with a forum software and later want to change it to another. Have you done this, was the transfer easy? I am asking this question because I have never done this previously and might want to try. I am running forums on open source platforms like PhpBB and MyBB and I want to change to XenForo. Are there any addons for this purpose?

I have never had to change my forum script so i really do not know what the whole process is like.
