According to the report, at least 30 people, including two children, are at risk of execution in Iran following the January 2026 uprising, according to Amnesty International. The rights group says eight individuals were sentenced to death in February after what it describes as fast-tracked and grossly unfair trials, with others facing charges such as “enmity against God”.
The report said that amnesty has raised concerns over alleged torture and forced confessions, urging authorities to halt the executions. Amid mounting pressure, exiled prince Reza Pahlavi has called on Shia Muslims to reclaim their faith from political control and unite across sectarian lines against the ruling establishment.
